For approximately 17 years, he served as an informatics teacher and senior teacher (Shunin Kyōyu) at Tokyo metropolitan high schools, designing classes that emphasized hands-on learning and helped students engage with information as something personally relevant. During that time, he earned a Master of Arts and Sciences from the Open University of Japan and a Ph.D. (Information Sciences) from Tohoku University Graduate School. Since April 2024, he has served as Associate Professor at the Center for Educational Research, Faculty of Education, University of Yamanashi, conducting research on information ethics education and informatics education while engaging in pre-service teacher education and in-service teacher development.
